DSE slips amid volatile trading

The Dhaka bourse opened negatively on Monday and witnessed volatile trading as major sectors were in correction mood.

Of the major sectors, bank, financial institutions, pharmaceuticals and chemicals saw a correction on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The market opened the session negatively and soon it showed a recovery stance that also failed to sustain shortly afterwards.

After one hour of the session, the DSEX declined 0.26 per cent or 15.07 points to close at 5758.52 points.

The blue chip index DS30 and shariah based index DSES also declined marginally.

Of the total issues were being traded till 11:30am, 114 advanced, 118 declined, and 60 were unchanged and the turnover stood at above Tk 1.4 billion.

BEXIMCO was on top of the turnover chart with a value of Tk 134 million followed by Mercantile Bank, National Tea Company, and Sonali Aansh.
