10 companies grab 33pc turnover on DSE

The top 10 traded companies accounted for 33 per cent of the total turnover on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Thursday, with Square Pharmaceuticals making its way to the top of the gainers' chart.

Square Pharma generated a turnover of Tk 290.2 million, contributing 7.6 per cent to the market turnover. Its share price gained 0.62 per cent to close at Tk 307.

IFAD Autos, which bagged the second spot of the chart, featured a value of Tk 206.5 million, making up 5.4 per cent of the market turnover. Its share settled 0.37 per cent lower at Tk 134.

Paramount Textile came in next. It grabbed 3.5 per cent of the market turnover by generating a value of Tk 133.7 million. Its share lost 0.65 per cent to close at Tk 46.30.

Aamra networks generated Tk 121.1 million or 3.2 per cent of the market turnover. Its share ended at Tk 89.10, shedding 4.85 per cent.

Featuring a value of Tk 100.8 million, National Tubes captured 2.6 per cent of the market turnover. The company's share ended 0.14 per cent higher at Tk 145.20.

BD Thai Aluminium featured a turnover of Tk 97 million or 2.5 per cent of the market turnover. Its share price rose 0.32 per cent to close at Tk 31.40.

Lafarge Surma Cement captured 2.5 per cent of the market turnover by generating a value of Tk 94.2 million. Its share price gained 2.52 per cent to close at Tk 64.80.

Other turnover leaders included United Power Generation and Distribution Company, City Bank and Islami Bank. Their turnovers ranged between Tk 67.6 million and Tk 79 million.
