Tamim reaches landmark of ODI 11000-run, Shakib 10000

Dashing opener Tamim Iqbal has notched up yet another milestone by going past the 11000-run landmark in international cricket during Bangladesh's second match in the ongoing tri-nation series against Sri Lanka at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday, report agencies.

After Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza opting to bat first, Tamim  found himself on the field with Anamul Haque Bijoy.

On the fourth ball of the second over of the innings, the opener played a shot as he makes the most out of the half-volley delivery by Nuwan Pradeep and drills it past the fielder at mid-off.

With the boundary, he became the first Bangladeshi player to join the elite club of 11000 runs in international cricket. He is now the only 67th player in the history of cricket to score 11000 or more runs in international cricket.

Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan has reached 10000 -run landmark in international cricket. He is the second Bangladeshi to achieve it. He reached the landmark on his way to 67 against Sri Lanka in the third match of the tri-nation series in Mirpur.

Shakib needed only 66 runs to complete his 10000 runs. He scored 67 runs off 63 balls hitting 7 fours against the Lankans.

The all-rounder came into the crease when Bangladesh lost Anamul Haque. Shakib reached his 36th fifty in 50 balls. It was his first half-century at number three.

Meanwhile, top order batsman Anamul Haque joined the1,000- run club as fastest Bangladeshi cricketer in ODI cricket during the third match of the Rocket tri-nation series against Sri Lanka in Mirpur in the city.

Anamul has taken only 29 innings to reach 1,000-run landmark. He has three hundreds and three half-centuries in the ODIs.

Anamul is the 19th Bangladeshi to score 1,000 runs or more in ODIs. He has now 1,004 runs in 32 matches (29 innings) with an average of 34.62.

Meanwhile, Sabbir has taken 42 innings to archive the feat. He smashed 24* runs off 12 balls including 3 fours and a six.

Sabbir got his 1000th run in style by hitting Suranga Lakmal for a six over deep midwicket on the fifth ball of the last over of Bangladesh's innings. He hit two fours in that over too.

Sabbir is the 20th Bangladesh batsman to score 1000 ODI runs. He has now 1009 runs in 48 matches (42 innings) at a strike rate of 94.21 including five fifties.
