Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 jolts Nepal

An earthquake of magnitude measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted Nepal around 1:45 pm on Wednesday, according to Nepal's National Earthquake Monitoring & Research Centre (NEMRC).

The epicentre of the earthquake was at Bichchhya of Himali Rural Municipality in the Bajura district of Nepal, according to Indian and Nepalese news portals.

"An Earthquake of ML 5.2 occurred around Bichhiya of Bajura district at 13:45," NEMRC noted in a tweet.

Last year in December, two earthquakes of magnitude 4.7 and 5.3 hit Nepal's Baglung district.

The tremor was felt in the hilly districts of the Sudurpaschim province as Bajura, Bajhang, and Achham as well. The locals panicked after the earthquake.

The earthquake was also felt in Kathmandu and surrounding districts. However, there was no report of any damage of property or casualty.
