IT was indeed a tragic incident that recently took place at a shopping centre at Uttara and took away seven lives. The incident took place just a week and half before the biggest Muslim festival, Eid Ul Fitr. The market was buzzing with Eid shoppers and a panic set in after the accident. An investigation team has already been formed and we hope the reason behind the accident will come out. It may be poor standard of maintenance that caused this deadly incident to occur. There are many big and small malls in the city and all of them should take proper care of their facilities so that no such incidents occur. The shopping malls are major attraction for people who visit them to buy articles of their necessity, spend their spare time and watch movies. The management of these malls should become more conscious about safety issues, as a small mistake can lead to a major accident.
