Curtailing travelling trouble

BANGLADESH is a place where transportation is a big issue. Most of the people of Dhaka travel by rickshaw, which is one of the major causes of traffic jam. Travelling by rickshaw is also costly and time consuming. If the government provides more BRTC buses, many travelling problems can be eased.
The BRTC is a semi-autonomous corporation under the Ministry of Communication. The governing body includes the Communication Minister, the Communication Secretary, the Director of the Corporation, and other officials. The BRTC provides both passenger and cargo transport services. It operates three international bus services (Dhaka to Kolkata, Agartala, and Siliguri in India). Inside Bangladesh, it operates inter-district bus services through its bus depots  in Chittagong, Bogra, Comilla, Pabna, Rangpur, Barisal, and Sylhet.
In Dhaka the bus services are very poorly managed. Buses are too few in number and most of them are in bad shape. Those look like as if they have gone through a war. The number of passengers is always more than the number of seats and still passengers over and above the number of seats are taken in by dishonest conductors. Some people prefer buses to avoid being late in office by travelling by a rickshaw. Such rush for buses causes accidents causing deaths and injuries. If the government provides more BRTC buses, it will be a lot easier for people to commute. People will be able to attend office timely and college and university students who come from far off places will find it more convenient to travel by bus. All in all, if BRTC bus service is expanded it will help reduce the mounting hassles of travelling.
