CNG three-wheelers

Published :

Updated :

ACCORDING to the rule issued by the Bangladesh Supreme Court in 2015, CNG three-wheeler drivers cannot demand any fare from the passengers, rather the passengers will pay them the amount shown on the meter installed in the vehicles. It was also the standing rule all through these years even before the said rule was issued by the Supreme Court.
The drivers of the three-wheelers have hardly followed this rule and have been extracting higher fare from the passengers on one excuse or the other. Although the price of fuel has gone down they are still showing no signs of change in their attitude and have been demanding a higher fare from the passengers.
For these reasons the people are facing serious difficulties in travelling from one place to another as they are reluctant to pay any extra fare in excess of the amount shown on the metre. As a result, miseries continue for the passengers. Now it is high time for the concerned authorities to take a stern measure against these lawbreakers.
