Chinese company to invest $1.02million in Chattogram EPZ

Chinese Company M/s Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Ltd will establish a leather and artificial leather products manufacturing industry in Chattogram Export Processing Zone.

This fully foreign owned company will invest US$ 1.02 million with employment opportunity for 764 Bangladeshis. Unicorn Leather Goods Factory will annually produce about 1 million leather items including bag, belt, wallet and other items, said a press release on Wednesday.

An agreement to this effect signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Ltd at BEPZA Complex in the capitalon Wednesday.

Mr Mohammad Faruque Alam, Member (Engineering) of BEPZA and Ms Kang Yanhong, Managing Director of M/s Unicorn Leather Goods Factory Ltd inked the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Among others, Mr Md Nabirul Islam, Secretary, Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) and Md Tanvir Hossain, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA were present during the occasion.
