10 companies capture 53.15pc of total market transaction

Top 10 turnover leaders grabbed 53.15 per cent of total market transaction featured by the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) in last the week.

According to DSE information, top 10 companies featured an aggregate amount of turnover worth Tk 19.11 billion in five sessions of last week.

Of the companies, Beximco featured a turnover of Tk 5.63 billion and grabbed 15.67 per cent of the weekly market transaction.

The company's share price declined 3.98 per cent and closed at Tk 82.10 each on Thursday.

Robi Axiata featured a turnover of Tk 2.77 billion and captured 7.70 per cent of the weekly turnover featured by the DSE.

The company's share price advanced 9.84 per cent in five sessions and closed at Tk 48 each on Thursday.

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company (BATBC) captured 6.72 per cent of the market turnover after featuring a turnover of Tk 2.42 billion.

In last week, the company's share price declined 63.54 per cent and closed at Tk 556.80 each. The company's share price witnessed major correction following the adjustment of 200 per cent stock dividend distributed for the year ended on December 31, 2020.

Of other turnover leaders, the share price of Beximco Pharmaceuticals advanced 4.46 per cent in last week and closed at Tk 189.60 each on Thursday.

The company featured a total turnover of Tk 2.06 billion and grabbed 5.75 per cent of the weekly turnover by the premier bourse DSE.

LankaBangla Finance posted a turnover of Tk 1.53 billion and captured 4.26 per cent of the market turnover.

The company's share price declined 3.44 per cent in five sessions and closed at Tk 33.70 each on Thursday.

In last week, Summit Power posted a turnover of Tk 1.29 billion and grabbed 3.60 per cent of the weekly market turnover. The company's share price advanced 1.12 per cent in five sessions and closed at Tk 45 each on Thursday.

Of other top turnover leaders, GBB Power posted a turnover of Tk 1.08 billion, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Tk 971.78 million, Orion Pharma Tk 808.90 million, and Square Pharmaceuticals Tk 533.40 million.
