What are Liverpool's attacking options next season without Mane and Firmino?

Liverpool lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich this summer. Mane has been one of the most instrumental players for Klopp’s team ever since the 2015-16 season when he was signed from Southampton.

It is also reported that Roberto Firmino, another important member of Liverpool's legendary three-man attacking trio, will also leave the club, which leaves Liverpool with the lone Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool gave a hard fight to Manchester City last season and the title race was well alive to the end of the 2021-22 Premier League season.

But with such losses in the attack, Liverpool's capability to challenge Manchester City in the upcoming season has been put into question. As Liverpool's front three had been more or less stable for quite a long time, this used to be a huge advantage for them.

When it comes to transfers, Liverpool bagged a striker with huge potential in the form of Darwin Nunez for €75 million along with €25 million in add-ons. Nunez is supposed to redeem the waning Liverpool attack, but since he is still a striker at quite a young age, expecting him to replicate the likes of Mane and Firmino is a bit of a stretch.

Liverpool also signed Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey, but they are not likely to be a part of the starting lineup.

Liverpool are not keen on signing anyone significant this season as Jude Bellingham, who was thought to be the long-term replacement for Jordan Henderson, is not likely to come anytime soon.

Liverpool, as a team, are in dire need of some serious reshuffling in order to be on track with Manchester City and also to be able to challenge them for the premier league title.

Liverpool's occasionally sloppy performances have been put down to Klopp's pressing style of play, which puts a huge amount of pressure on the individual footballers and wears them out.

But with a completely new attacking philosophy in the absence of a veteran like Mane and most likely Firmino, they are in for a long season ahead.
