More than a dozen local garment manufacturers join Paris expo

More than a dozen local fabric and garment manufacturers took part in the three-day Texworld/Apparel Sourcing/Leather World Paris 2022 expo that concluded on Wednesday.

Ms Dilara Begum, Commercial Counsellor of Bangladesh in Paris, visited the summer edition of the expo that marked the return of major sourcing countries to the capital of fashion amid the pandemic, said a statement.

More than 400 exhibitors from some 20 countries, including Bangladesh, China, Korea, India, Taiwan, Turkey and Pakistan displayed a global fashion range, signalling the recovery of the global textile and clothing market.

At the expo, Bangladeshi participants spent a busy time with trade enquiries and buyers from the UK, France, Germany, Turkey and other European countries, the statement added.

Md Hasibul Huda, deputy general manager of Pioneer Denim Limited that took part in the show, said, “Since life is getting back to normal after the COVID pandemic worldwide, the visitors' response has been quite encouraging where we communicated with different global brands and retailers.”

“The show, with the presence of exhibitors and visitors from different parts of the world, created a common platform for each other to develop business partnership”.

Bangladesh had a direct exhibitor and a national pavilion organised by the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh (EPB).

The other participants were Momtex Expo, Nice Denim Mills, Hossain Dyeing and Printing, Argon Denim, Evince Textiles, Pioneer Denim, NZ Denim, Anannya Socks and Inner Industries, C.B.M International, DD Sourcing, D. K. Textile, Tosa Creation, Lights Creation, Nelima Fashion Wear and Vertex Wear.

The three-day Texworld/Apparel Sourcing USA will begin on July 19, the statement said, adding the next Texworld/Apparel Sourcing/Leather world Paris will also take place on February 06, 2023.
