The High Court has issued a rule upon the Registrar of the Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) to explain in two weeks as to why the inaction of the respondent in accepting the annual return of the Destiny-2000 Limited and its resolutions taken in the requisition meeting and extraordinary general meeting should not be declared illegal.

The High Court bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman passed the order on Tuesday after hearing a writ petition filed by Destiny-2000 Limited.

Layer M Mainul Islam appeared in the court on behalf of Destiny-2000 Limited, while Deputy Attorney General Amit Das Gupta represented the state.

Mr Amit Das Gupta later said, “The Registrar of the Joint Stock Companies and Firms denied accepting the annual return of the Destiny-2000 Limited and its resolutions taken in the requisition meeting and extraordinary general meeting.”

Then the company filed a writ petition challenging the inaction of the RJSC and after hearing the court issue a rule, added the state counsel.
