14 rescued in Benapole while being trafficked to India

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 14 Bangladesh nationals from Daulatpur border in Benapole Port Police Station while they were being trafficked to India on Saturday night.

The rescued are from different areas of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Manikganj districts.

BGB-21 Battalion commanding officer Lt Col Tarequl Hakim said that on secret information a team of BGB conducted the drive in the area at night and arrested four women and ten men.

Sensing the presence of BGB men, the human traffickers managed to flee the scene, reports UNB.

Later, BGB handed over the arrestees to the Benapole Port Police Station.
