Writ filed to block ‘Blue Whale’ game

A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking directives to block the much-hyped Blue Whale and other harmful games.

Three lawyers of the Supreme Court led by Humayun Kabir Pallab filed the writ before the court Sunday.

They submitted the plea seeking government’s instructions to close special internet package during the night, offered by the mobile phone operators.

The writ also asked to block all the Blue Whale links on local internet, according to a local media report.

However, some three to four injury reports uncovered in last few days following one of the most controversial online-based game that enforces the gamer to commit suicide and perform several acts of self-harm.
