Two remanded over Kakrail murders

A court has placed a man and his wife on six-day remand in a case over the killing of a woman and her son in the city's Kakrail area.

Those remanded are victim Shamsun Nahar’s husband Abdul Karim, 56, and his third wife Sharmin Akhter Mukta, 25.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Khurshid Alam on Friday passed the order after Ali Hossain, sub-inspector of Ramna Police Station, and also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand.

Earlier Ashraf Ali, brother of victim Shamsun Nahar, filed the case accusing Abdul Karim, Sharmin Akhter Mukta, her brother Al Amin alias Jonny, 33, on Thursday night, said Mainul, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station.

On Wednesday, Shamsun Nahar, 40 and her son Shawon, 22, were found dead in a flat of a multi-storey building in the city's Kakrail area, reports UNB.

On information, police went to the spot and recovered their bloodstained bodies.
