President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday expressed profound shock and sorrow at the deaths of people in a boat capsize in the Korotoa River in Panchagarh, according to UNB and BSS.
In a condolence message, the president prayed for forgiveness and peace for the souls of those killed in the accident and speedy recovery to the injured.
The prime minister, who is now in the USA, prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved families in a separate message of condolence
Twenty-four people were killed so far after a boat carrying over 100 passengers sank in the Korotoa River in Boda Upazila of Panchagarh on Sunday afternoon.
