Obaidul Quader says Awami League will respond befittingly to violence, conspiracy

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said his party will give a befitting reply to any kind of conspiracy and violence in the name of an anti-government movement.

"AL will respond appropriately to violence and conspiracy in the name movement as the party is much united and stronger than any time of the past under Sheikh Hasina's leadership," he said after paying tributes to Bangabandhu on his Homecoming Day on Tuesday, reports BSS.

The minister paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait at Bangabandhu Bhaban in the city's Dhanmondi-32 area.

After laying the wreath, he told reporters that Bangladesh achieved victory in 1971 through the surrender of the Pakistani occupation forces.

"But, this victory was incomplete until Sheikh Mujib, the great hero of the victory, who was imprisoned in Pakistan, was released and returned home," he said.

Quader said the victory of Bangladesh got completion on January 10, 1972.

He said that the firm promise of the Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu is to build an ideal country as the Father of the Nation’s dream.

Quader said: "Under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we will build the 'Sonar Bangla' to materialise the Bangabandhu's dream of maintaining the development spree of the country."

He, as well, pledged to build a developed and prosperous 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041.
