BCL men vandalise Welcome Paribahan’s busses

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Jahangirnagar University unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) damaged six buses of Welcome Paribahan on the campus on Saturday evening.

Sources said Enamuzzaman Shuov, a second-year student of Economics department of the university, got into a Welcome bus at Shyamoli in Dhaka on Friday noon while his friend Jahid Adnan of Finance and Banking department missed the bus as it was running at high speed.

Shuvo told the matter to bus supervisor but he did not cared it, rather he misbehaved with him and got out him from the bus forcibly at Kallayanpur.

Hearing the news, some BCL activists of Maulana Bhashani Hall forcefully stopped Nabinagar-bound six buses of Welcome Paribahan coming from Dhaka and took them to the campus in the afternoon, reports UNB.

Later, all the six buses were vandalised on Saturday evening by some 10 to 12 friends of Shuvo, a BCL activist of JU unit, as the owner did not resolve the matter by the timeframe.

Jahid and Shuvo are the BCL activists of Maulana Bhashani Hall unit, and also the followers of JU unit BCL secretary Abu Sufian Chanchal.
Contacted, Chancal said he knew nothing about the vandalism.

Meanwhile, JU Proctor Prof Tapan Kumar Saha, confirming the incident to UNB correspondent, said the authority of Welcome Paribahan took their buses from the campus in the evening.

"On Sunday, we will sit with the Welcome Paribahan authority and the students allegedly responsible for the vandalism."
