Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in the United States, is keeping round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and clearing urgent files online.

PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told news agencies that the prime minister is maintaining round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and giving necessary directives to the officials concerned on different matters.

The Prime Minister digitally cleared 16 urgent files in the last two days from the US capital, said the press secretary on Tuesday.

"The premier digitally disposed of nine electronic files (e-files) on Monday and seven files on Sunday," Ihsanul Karim said.

He said the Prime Minister earlier instructed her office to send all the urgent files to her during her stay in the USA.

Sheikh Hasina reached Washington from New York on Friday afternoon after attending the 72nd session of the UNGA.

After staying in Washington for a week, Sheikh Hasina will leave for home on September 29. She will return home on October 2 via London.
