Libya killing: RAB arrests four ‘traffickers’

Law enforces on Wednesday arrested four suspected human traffickers in connection for allegedly trafficking 26 Bangladeshis people who were killed in Libya recently.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the four, three man and a woman, from different parts of Kishoreganj district.

The arrestees are-- Helal Ahmed Helu, 45, Md Khabir Uddin, 42, Shahid Mia, Munni Akhtar Ruposh.

RAB is working to get more information on the female human trafficker on her involvement, said the elite force in a press statement.

Earlier on Friday, RAB detained Kamal Uddin alias Haji Kamal for his suspecting involvement with the human trafficking racket who sent Bangladeshis migrants to Libya where 26 of them were gun down on May 28.

Kamal had been trafficking Bangladeshis to the Mideast and Libya for the last decade, RAB said adding that the trafficker (Kamal) had sent 400 people to Libya alone. 

Some 42 migrants, including 38 Bangladeshis, were held captive in Mizdah of Libya while they were preparing to cross Libya for Europe. Later, mafia gun down 26 Bangladeshis and injuring 11 in captive.
