Police recover student’s throat-slit body

Police recovered the throat-slit body of a Madinatul Madrasa student from his institution adjacent to Sergeant Ahad Police Box at the bustling Gulistan in Dhaka city.

The body was identified as that of Mohammad Jidan (12), son of Hafiz Uddin hailing from Gafargaon upazila under Mymensingh.

Nishat Jahan, a sub-inspector (SI) of Paltan Police Station, said they made the recovery of the body upon its discovery by a teacher on the floor next to a madrasa toilet.

He said they took the body to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital immediately but doctors declared him brought dead.

A class mate of his named Abu Bakar has gone missing since his body was recovered, the police official added,

Asked about the motive behind the murder that took place early in the rmorning, he showed ignorance of this and said it could be known once Bakar is found.
