A motorcyclist and its pillion rider were killed as a goods-laden truck hit their two-wheeler at Untrish Mile area in South Sadar upazila of Thukurgaon on Saturday morning.
The dead were identified as Paresh Chandra Roy, 40, son of late Annanda Barman of Tourigao village and Mahfuzur Rahman Jion, 48, son of Jahurul of Islambagh in the district town. Both were NGO employees.
Quoting witnesses, Ashiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station, said Paresh and Mahfuzur were off to Dinajpur district in the morning.
A truck hit their motorbike from behind while two trucks were racing to overtake each other at around 9:00am, leaving the duo dead on the spot, reports UNB citing the OC.
Police said they are in hunt to arrest the truck drivers.
