Moulvibazar locked down

The district administration of Moulvibazar on Monday put it under lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Deputy Commissioner Nazia Shirin made the announcement around 1:00pm.

All emergency services will remain out of the purview of the restriction, said a public notice issued today (Monday).

The restriction will be effective from 5:00pm.

Earlier, the district confirmed one coronavirus case.

Bangladesh on Sunday recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases in one day as 139 more people tested positive, raising the total number to 621.

Besides, four more people died from coronavirus during the period raising the death toll to 34 while the global death toll from coronavirus reached 114,247 on Monday morning.

A number of districts and areas across the country have been put under lockdown by the local administration to contain the spread of coronavirus, reports UNB.
