HSBC Bangladesh Gulshan branch has received the ‘Platinum certification’ under the LEED v4 rating system, according to a press release.
According to the issued statement in November 2022, HSBC Gulshan branch has fulfilled the requirements of the LEED Green Building rating system certification established by the US Green Building Council and verified by Green Business Certification Inc. LEED Platinum.
This is the highest-level recognition for overall sustainability and the branch is the first bank branch in Bangladesh to earn the rating.
LEED certification identifies HSBC Gulshan Branch as a showcase example of sustainability and demonstrates leadership in transforming the building industry.
The certification means a facility is more than just eco-friendly; it also helps curb costs and improve productivity: greater energy efficiency, lower utility bills and operating costs.
It signifies and ensures that an infrastructure ‘creates healthy, highly efficient, cost-saving green buildings’ improving environmental performance from carbon footprint to indoor environmental quality.
On December 04, 2022, to celebrate this milestone achievement, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson and Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam graced their presence yet again at the HSBC’s Guslhan branch along with Md Mahbub ur Rahman, CEO of HSBC Bangladesh and Tanmi Haque, Head of Retail Banking form HSBC Bangladesh.
The event was also attended by some of the esteemed HSCB select customers of HSBC Bangladesh. It must be mentioned that both, the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh and the Mayor of DNCC inaugurated HSBC Gulshan branch just over a year ago and were present at this very premises.

With greater building efficiency HSBC Gulshan branch will be able to reduce cost up to 20 per cent adding value to its banking operation besides being environment friendly at the same time and more importantly will see improved employee productivity, health and wellness.
