Stocks opened almost flat on Wednesday after a sharp rise in the previous day as investors mostly followed a cautious stance.
Within the first hour into trade, DSEX fell almost 2.0 points while the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) of port city’s bourse lost 42 points at 11:00 when the report was filed.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went down by 1.90 points or 0.03 per cent to stand 5,506 points till then.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, also fell 3.19 points to reach at 2,104 and the Shariah Index (DSES) shed 0.38 points to stand 1,245 points till then.
Turnover, another important indicator of the market, stood at Tk 2.48 billion within the first hour of trading at 11:00 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 120 advanced, 98 declined and 112 remained unchanged.
Beximco was the most traded stock till then with shares worth Tk 576 million changing hands, followed by Robi, Beximco Pharma, LankaBangla Finance and LafarhgeHolcim.
The port city’s bourse – the Chittagong Stock Exchange – (CSE) saw negative with CSE All Share Price Index- CASPI- losing 42 points to stand at 15,954, also at 11:00 am.
Of the issues traded till then, 44 gained, 56 declined, and 38 issues remained unchanged with Tk 105 million in turnover.
