PSG or City - who got the better squad?

Manchester City and PSG, at this moment, are probably the two European teams with the strongest squad depth this season. The sheer number of football stars these two teams have at this moment is unmatched compared to any other side in Europe.

Last season, PSG had arguably the greatest transfer window in football history, landing stars such as Messi, Ramos, Donnarumma, Hakimi, and Wijnaldum in a single transfer window.

This season, their transfers have been quite underwhelming, to say the least, with Renato Sanches being the most hyped of all the players they brought to the club. However, they have amassed an excellent squad over the years, with great players in every possible department.

Although there is criticism about their lack of chemistry, it is undeniable that a team of PSG's calibre, especially with a front trio composed of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, can literally outplay any opponent on their day.

Manchester City, on the other hand, had a great transfer window due to the acquisition of Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips. They have endured a lot of criticism in the last few seasons for their lack of a proper striker and a defensive midfielder. It seems that Pep Guardiola this time has made sure that there are no weaknesses in the team whatsoever.

Manchester City, apart from their excellent team structure, have a fluid attacking style of football which is synchronised and can be considered to be a treat for the eyes.

Guardiola has spent a significant amount of time in his tenure at Manchester City ensuring that the team plays a beautiful style of football while also achieving results. Despite having a squad of almost equal calibre, this actually sets them apart from PSG.

Both the teams, despite possessing excellent squad depth, have always fallen short of the best in the UEFA Champions League. It will be interesting to see how they fare this season.
