A strong 6.1-magnitude earthquake jolted Indonesia’s capital Jakarta on Tuesday, said Dedi Sugianto, an official of meteorology and geophysics agency.

Previously the quake was measured at 6.4 on the Richter scale, but it was revised downward to 6.1, he said.

No tsunami alert has been issued, reports Xinhua citing the official.
