Pirojpur microbus plunge kills father, daughter

A man and his daughter were killed and three other family members sustained injuries when the microbus in which they were travelling, overturned and plunged into a ditch at Morelganj end of the Baleshwar Bridge on Pirojpur-Bagerhat road on Sunday night.
The accident occurred around 10 pm when Touhiduzzaman (42), a businessman hailing from Khulna, was returning home along with his family members after visiting Kuakata, said victim's brother Ahmed.
Touhid died on the spot, he added.
His wife and three children were taken to a private clinic in Khulna city with severe injuries.
But his daughter Tasmina, a class VII student of Khulna Collegiate Girls' School, died on her way to hospital, according to a local news agency.
