Five killed in Narsingdi bus-truck collision

A road crash on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway has left five people dead and at least 15 others injured.

 

A collision between a bus and a truck was reported around 6:00am on Wednesday from Narsingdi's Madhabdi Upazila.

 

"The bus was heading to Dhaka from Narsingdi Monohordi. Five people died when it crashed with a truck," said Madhabdi police OC Md Elias.

 

At least 15 people have been taken to hospitals in Narsingdi and Narayanganj from the scene, he said.

 

The victims are yet to be identified.

 

Traffic on the highway has been halted since 10:00am amid rescue efforts; according to a news agency report.
