‘Extortionists’ hack fish trader to death

Local extortionists allegedly hacked a fish trader dead in Kolatia area in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka on early Sunday.

The deceased Salauddin (38) was the son of Alan, hailing from Khanakandi area of the upazila.

Some local stalkers demanded Tk five lakh from Salauddin as extortion, Shah Alam, in-charge of Kolatia outpost under Keraniganj Model Police Station.

Following his refusal to meet up their demand, the extortionists called him around 12:00 am making a false alarm that fish from his farm is being looted.
 

When Salauddin reached his farm, stalkers indiscriminately hacked him, leaving him wounded critically, the police official added.  

The injured was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries in the early morning, reports UNB.
