Dhaka University deans for taking final exams online

The deans' committee of Dhaka University (DU) proposed taking final examinations of all departments online due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation.

The committee said if the Covid-19 pandemic situation does not improve before June, the university will have to take final examinations through online platform.

Dr Md Hasanuzzaman, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, confirmed the matter to FE.

They proposed it at a virtual meeting of the committee with DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair.

Pro VC (Administration) Dr Muhammad Samad, Pro VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, directors of different institutions, and chairmen of different departments were also connected to the meeting.

Dr Hasanuzzaman said, "For the Covid-19 situation, students are facing long session jam, so the decision was taken ethically. Teachers of the departments will contact their respective students regarding the matter."

The Academic Council of the university will finalise the decision.
