BGB rescues 12 BD nationals at Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 12 Bangladeshi nationals, including five women and two children, from Sadipur bordering area at Benapole on Friday night while they were being trafficked to India.

Being informed, a team of BGB-49 led by Lt. Col Ariful Haque, raided the area around 10 pm and nabbed 10 people hailing from different areas of Norail and Bagerhat districts.

But the human traffickers managed to flee sensing the presence of BGB.

The arrestees were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station later and a case was filed in this connection, according to a local news agency.
