Bangladesh to bat in the do or die clash against Oman

FE Online Desk | Tuesday, 19 October 2021

Bangladesh win the toss and choose to bat first in their second game of Group B.

"Dew is a factor, that has been a consideration, but we will like to post a score on the board," said the Bangladesh skipper Mahmudullah, quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

Mohammad Naim replaces Soumya Sarker today. The rest of the squad is unchanged.

Oman, on the other hand, are going into the match, high in confidence from their previous game. They have a change in their squad. Khawar Ali makes a place for Fayyaz Butt.

As Scotland got the better of PNG, they are already in a better position. Bangladesh losing this game will mean that Scotland and Oman both qualify for the next round. So there is no room for a slip for Bangladesh.

However, if Oman lose today, they will still have a chance to make it to the next round on the back of an excellent net run-rate, provided they defeat Scotland in their last game.
