Pakistan got the better of Afghanistan beating them by 5 wickets with 1 over remaining and are one step away from the Semi-finals.

Chasing 148, Pakistan lost the wicket of Rizwan quickly. But Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman set the course straight for them with a 63 runs stand.

Fakhar (30 off 25) was undone by Nabi. But Babar kept on anchoring and reached his half-century. He ended up at 51(46) being dismissed by Rashid Khan at the very last bowl of his quota of four overs.

Rashid picked up 2 wickets. Shoaib Malik helped with his 19(14). After his departure, Asif took them home with a cameo of 25(7) hitting 4 sixes in the 19th over of Karim Janat.

Mujeeb bowled brilliantly for Afghanistan taking 1 for 14 but didn’t get the likewise outcome from anyone else.

Earlier, Afghanistan found themselves in all sorts of trouble. No batter could settle in and they were 76/6 just at a point.

Yet they managed to score a decent, 147 thanks to a massive 71(43) runs partnership for the 7th wicket, the highest in 7th wicket for Afghanistan, by Mohammad Nabi (35 off 32) and Gulbadin Naib (35 off 25).

Imad Wasim picked up 2 wickets for Pakistan. The rest of the bowlers took 1 each. Asif Ali became the man of the match for his heroic batting of 25 runs off just 7 deliveries.
