Two motorbike riders were killed and another sustained injuries after a sand-laden truck rammed their motorcycle in Mohammadpur area in the city on early Friday.
The deceased were identified as Shohag, 19, and Shihan, 20, residents of Dhaka’s Mirpur area.
Harun or Rashid, Sub Inspector of Mohammadpur Police Station said the accident occurred opposite to Shyamoli Shishu Mela at around 2:00am, leaving one of the victims dead on the spot.
Two others were injured in the accident and taken to Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College Hospital where the second victim succumbed to his injuries, according to local media reports.
The bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue; the police official said adding that another injured Dipu was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
