Train communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong were restored after two hours of suspension following derailment of a train near to Bhatera Railway Station in Kulaura upazila on Thursday morning.

Erfanul Haq, Senior Deputy Assistant Engineer of Bangladesh Railway at Kulaura, said wheels of a compartment of a Chittagong-bound Jalalabad Express from Sylhet veered off the tracks around 9:45am, halting train movement on the Sylhet-Chittagong and Sylhet-Dhaka routes, reports a news agency.

Later, the train services on the two routes resumed after a relief train salvaged the compartment around 11.45am, he added.
