‘Govt has nothing to do with Khaleda’s freedom’

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday said BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s freedom is a matter of court; the government has nothing to do with this.

“Khaleda went to jail after stealing money of orphans. She has been sentenced by court. What can we do here? BNP leaders are working with completely baseless ideas and that is why they are having hard time in maintaining their party,” he said.

The minister said these while talking to newsmen after laying foundation stone for new four-storied building of Shahid Sriti Government College in Akhaura this morning.

He later addressed the rally on the college premises.

Presided over by Akhaura upazila nirbahi officer and college governing body president Mohammad Shamsuzzaman, the rally was also addressed by college principal Md Joynal Abedin and city mayor Takzil Khalifa, among others, reports BSS.
