Police have recovered the bodies of a man and a woman from a hotel room in Sylhet.
The bodies were found in Hotel Meherpur at the city’s Sobhani Ghat around 10.30pm on Sunday, Kotwali Police OC Gousul Hossain said.
The dead have been identified as Rumi Paul, 25, and Mintu Dev, 27. The bodies have been taken to the Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue.
The police cited an SMS sent to the mobile phones of Rumi’s relatives saying she committed suicide in the hotel, reports bdnews24.
Rumi was found dead in the hotel bed while Mintu’s body was found hanging from the fan.
They rented the room as a married couple, OC Hossain said.
