PM leaves Abu Dhabi for New York

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning for New York to attend the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

 

A flight of Etihad Airways carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage departed Abu Dhabi International Airport at 10:50 am local time, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said, reports UNB.

 

Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Muhammad Imran saw the Prime Minister off at the airport.

 

Earlier on Saturday afternoon, Sheikh Hasina and her entourage members arrived here at 4:40 pm by a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines after the national flag carrier departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:10 pm.

 

Sheikh Hasna will address the UNGA in the afternoon of September 21. On the same day, she will hold a bilateral meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

 

Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA M Ziauddin and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UN Masud Bin Momen will receive her at the airport in New York on Sunday afternoon.

 

From the airport, Hasina will go to Hotel Grand Hyatt in New York where she will stay during her tour.

 

On September 18, the Prime Minister will attend a high-level meeting on UN Reform to be hosted by US President Donald Trump.

 

She will also attend high-level meetings on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse at the UN Headquarters (UNHQ) and High-Level Follow-up Meeting of Global Deal for Decent Work and Inclusive Growth at Convene Conference Centre.
