Govt steps made Eid journey hazardless: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday said her government has taken all necessary measures so that people can travel to their village home to celebrate holy Eid-ul-Azha with their kith and kin.
The prime minister said this while addressing the visitors came to greet her at Ganobhban on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha’.
“We have tried to put in place a better communication and law and order system so that people can go to their village home to celebrate the Eid with their kith and kin and come back to Dhaka without any hazard,” she said, reports BSS.
The prime minister thanked the law enforcing agencies for their constant stride to maintain law and order so that people can celebrate the holy occasion in a peaceful atmosphere.
Urging her party leaders and workers to remain ready to make great sacrifice for great achievement, the prime minister said Eid-ul Azha teaches us to learn how to make sacrifice.
“Great sacrifice is needed for getting anything great,” she quoted Bangabandhu saying “I always think that the observation of Bangabandhu is right.”
Sheikh Hasina said the holy Eid-ul-Azha has come in this painful month of August this year, which carries the memories of many great sacrifices including Bangabandhu’s martyrdom.
In this month, she said, we have lost our many leaders and workers including Ivy Rahman in the heinous in grenade attack on August 21, 2004.
“We, only the two sisters survived in 1975 carnage, are trying to fulfill the dream of the Father of the Nation. So you please pray for us, our children to the almighty,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina said we are trying to work for the people of Bangladesh so that they can get a better and decent life and every people have access to food, shelter, education and healthcare.
