The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 31 suspects from Dhaka in a regular anti-narcotics drive for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under DMP conducted the drives and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Wednesday.
The drives led to seizure of 617 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 334 grams heroin, and 20 bottles of phensedyl syrup along with some other drug items, according to a DMP statement.
A total of 25 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
