Bangladeshi national held with 0.6m Indian rupees at Benapole

Customs officials arrested a Bangladeshi national along with 0.6 million (six lakh) Indian rupees from Benapole check post area on Saturday morning.

The arrestee was identified as Yakub Ali Mina (40), son of Rajob Ali Mina, hailed from Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Benapole customs officials launched a drive in the check post area around 9:00 am and arrested Yakub, said Jakir Hossain, additional commissioner of Benapole customs house.

Later, they recovered six lakh Indian rupees after searching his body.

A case was filed in this connection, reports UNB.
