Cox's Bazar, the largest and most attractive beach in the world, has worn an exquisite look to the tune of the colours of spring. As if rhythm of love has mingled on even with the turbulent waves of the sea here. Along with the visitors, the locals also enjoy the joy of spring and love on the beach.

Travellers flocked to the beach to spend special moments with their loved ones. Tourism-related businessmen are very happy as the number of tourists increases on Pahela Falgun and Valentine's Day. The Tourist Police is working round-the-clock to ensure security of the tourists.

Sources said thousands of tourists have come to Cox's Bazar to enjoy the beauty of nature on Pahela Falgun spring and Valentine's Day.

Some with their loved ones, some with their parents and some with their friends have rushed to Cox's Bazar. They are spending time sitting on the sand of the beach, bathing in the sea, standing next to their loved ones in the afternoon and watching the sunset.

Latif and Mina, a couple from Dhaka's Uttara, said, "Today is Valentine's Day and the first day of spring. But this day is more special for us. Because we got married three years ago on this day. So, spending time with loved ones in a special place on a special day is really a different feeling for me. It feels really good."

"On Valentine's Day, spending time with loved ones, chatting, walking around is really a very happy thing. And if the place is as beautiful as this beach, then you can understand how the feeling will be," said Abdullah Al Mamun, a tourist from Savar, Dhaka.

Meanwhile, about four hundred hotels, motels and guest houses in Cox's Bazar are under extra pressure. More than 85 per cent of the rooms in all hotels are already booked. Some hotels have special arrangements for tourists with 50 per cent discount on this day.

Shah Newaz, director of Hotel World Beach, said,"Up to 50 per cent discount has been arranged for tourists on this day. We are also ensuring additional services."

Abu Taleb, manager of the five-star hotel Cox Today, said there has been a good response on the occasion of Valentine's Day. We also had various preparations to provide additional services to tourists, he said. However, due to Corona there will be no special concert or cultural programme this year, he added.

Cox's Bazar Tourist Police SP Md. Zillur Rahman said that tourist police are working round the clock to provide security to tourists on the beach. Special measures have been taken to ensure the safe travel of tourists, he added.

Rafiqul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police of Cox's Bazar District Police, said that vigilance has been increased in some important places in the city to avoid any untoward incident around this special day.

Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Shaheen Imran said that the district administration team is working along with the tourist police in the beach area to avoid any unpleasant situation and for the safety of tourists.
