BMD predicts rain, thundershowers

Rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at one or two places over the country on Friday (today), according to an official at Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

Talking to The Financial Express, Bazlur Rashid, a BMD meteorologist, said rain or thundershowers may occur at one or two places over Sylhet division.

Apart from this, rain is likely to witness in Dhaka division and over the northern part of the country in the next 72 hours until Monday morning, he added.

The BMD in a weather forecast this morning said weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, according to its regular forecast.

In its 24-hour forecast, the Met Office said light fog may occur at places over the southern part of the country during late night to morning.

A trough of westerly low lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining area, the met office regular bulletin said, adding that seasonal low lies over South Bay.

In its next 72-hour forecast, the Met Office said rain/thundershowers are likely to occur over the northern part of the country.

The sun sets at 6:03 pm on Friday, according to the Met Office forecast, while it rises at 6:17 am on Saturday in Dhaka.
