A 25-day old newborn is among three more Rohingyas who joined scores of injured refugees being treated at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) on early Friday.
Saiful Arman, the newborn, is the son of Syed Nur, a resident of Rochidong neighbourhood in Rakhine state where the Myanmar army has been unleashing violence on the Muslim community, reports bdnews24.com.
He was admitted at the hospital with burn wounds, said ASI Alauddin of CMCH police outpost.
Two other refugees admitted with him - Salimullah, 45 and Hafez Ahmed, 16 - were injured in accidents, he said. They were transferred to CMCH from a clinic set up by Médecins Sans Frontières in a refugee camp at Teknaf.
At least 106 injured Rohingyas, who mostly suffered gunshots and burns, were brought to the state-run hospital in the three weeks since violence broke out in Rakhine state over terror attacks launched by Muslim insurgents on Myanmar security posts on Aug 25.
Of them, two died on Aug 26 and Aug 30. Twenty-three refugees have left the hospital after recovery.
The Myanmar army stands accused by the UN and various rights groups of shooting fleeing civilians and large-scale torching of entire Rohingya villages.
The security operation to root out so-called terrorists from Rohingya villages have forced 400,000 of the stateless population to seek refuge in neighbouring Bangladesh, according to UN workers.
