The World Food Programme needs a Project Delivery Manager

Job Title: Project Delivery Manager SSA7 Dhaka 

Type of Contract: Special Service Agreement

Job Grade:  SSA 7 - Special Service Agreement, Local Contractors Agreement - Administrative support

Duration of contract: 11 Months

Duty Station: Dhaka

Nationality: Bangladeshi only

Monthly Net Salary: BDT 122,946 per month

Job Responsibilities:

  • Information management and research: Will liaise across units and programs to create talking points, briefs, and presentations for the Representative as and when needed. This will involve researching a variety of subjects, including but not limited to, WFP program history and current status, national-level data, national policy, politics, country context, Rohingya refugee influx and related issues, and so on. 
  • Project management: Will assist with conceptualizing and implementing projects and events for the Representative, including events for visiting dignitaries, local thought leaders and Government representatives, donors, UN counterparts and fundraisers. This will require detailed planning and liaising with WFP Procurement, Finance, Logistics, and other departments, printers, local business owners and vendors, and creatives (artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, graphic designers).
  • Outreach: Will work with the Representative’s office and WFP Bangladesh Communications team to develop strategies for communication and messaging for a variety of audiences on WFP - Bangladesh projects, and will liaise with journalists, bloggers, thought leaders on stories that highlight those projects.
  • Other functions: Will coordinate with the Head of Project Delivery Unit on other activities including correspondence, scheduling, editing documents, work planning and prioritizing, and briefing the Representative on relevant political events. Will attend Government meetings with the Representative as and when required, to translate and facilitate communication with Government interlocutors. Will attend UN and NGO with the Representative and will generate reports and read-outs as and when required. 

Standard Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum Graduation degree in any relevant discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 Years of experience with 3 years in the relevant field.
  • Languages: Fluent in spoken and written English and Bangla.

Other Specific Job Requirements:

  • Good communicator with strong writing and research skills.
  • Must be able to build and maintain a range of relationships and networks both within and outside the office. 
  • The incumbent will be required to manage and present knowledge information appropriately so that it is easily available for other staff when needed.

Desired Experiences For Entry Into The Role:

  • Has demonstrated a strong understanding of WFP communication techniques and activities and awareness of the socio-political context in which WFP operates through day to day work.
  • Has provided coaching or training to new staff members within their area of expertise.
