The Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs (YSSE), a youth-led non-profit organisation arranged a virtual learning event titled ‘Powering the youth 1.0’ as part of YSSE's youth empowerment initiatives on April 17 and 18. The event covered two very essential skills namely "SEO friendly content writing " and "Ace the presentation with Advanced PowerPoint". The aim of the sessions were to make youths better equipped to present their ideas effectively through content writing and presentations.
The first session "SEO friendly content writing '' was conducted by the experienced instructor Chamok Biswas-- CEO and founder of Three Phase Academy. The instructors presented insights such as how an individual should write content to optimise his or her business name on the organic search results, which applications we should use to handle this SEO-friendly content writing etc. The first session had over 110 participants.
"You need to learn SEO content writing patiently if you want to take this as a passion and profession. Success won't come in a day, not even in a month. But your relentless strategic efforts can offer you a high marginal income in the future by being a successful SEO and content writing expert," added Chamok during the session.
The second session on the following day was about "Acing the presentation with Advanced PowerPoint" and it was conducted by an MS PowerPoint Certified trainer Muttaki Faruk -- CEO of vTutor Bangladesh. The instructor showed some Microsoft PowerPoint tricks to enable the participants to prepare outstanding PowerPoint presentations promptly. He also presented how a pitch deck presentation needs to be designed by using some specific advanced PowerPoint applications to more than 120 participants.
"For becoming a master in advanced PowerPoint, one should start with a story and then practice constantly to explore more advanced features of PowerPoint through which one will be able to build the foundation of PowerPoint excellency," said Mr Faruk.
Both of these sessions were designed especially for empowering the youth by shaping them through two very essential 21st century employability skills. YSSE Marketing and PR recognised the insightful participation of two guest instructors with the "Token of Appreciation".
Shamiul Naoshad Noman, a participant in the event, said, " Microsoft PowerPoint presentation creation is significant for my professional life. Before this session, I was just able to use some default slide designs and I had very poor knowledge about all of these, and I used to face much trouble. Then I decided to join this event and registered. After this session, now l have come to know very essential guidance about Microsoft PowerPoint."
There were two quizzes held after each session based on the learnings. Anika Hossain, a student of North South University, got the highest marks in both the quizzes. YSSE recognised her by featuring her on the official page of YSSE and gave her some gifts and discounts on different stirring things.
Apart from this, all the participants were recognised with a ‘Certificate of Participation’ authorised by YSSE Founder and President Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf Hossain and Head of Marketing and PR Department Khairul Sadman Farabi for actively participating in two of the sessions. After the declaration of winners and parting words from the guests, the event came to a successful end.
