Fundraising webinar 'Corporate Insights' organised by NSU YES! begins

With the global unrest created by the COVID-19 pandemic where the South Asian countries like Bangladesh are most at risk due to inadequate healthcare supplies and aid facilities, youth of the country are not staying idle from articulating any form of innovative ways of conveying it out loud to the world that caring for the nation can be done even while staying at home.

Such one innovative step was taken by a prominent student organisation, North South University Young Entrepreneurs Society (NSU YES!), which is also the pioneer business club of North South University.

On May 17, 2020 they launched a new venture named ‘Corporate Insights’, which is a four-day fundraiser webinar.

The vision was to aid the underprivileged portion of the population through the collaborative move as the registration fund will be donated to OBHIZATRIK foundation, which is a also a youth organisation focusing on social development.

Not only that, 26 other student clubs from different universities across Bangladesh joined hand in hand with NSU YES! in their cause to widespread this initiation, going by the motto "Join For A Cause".

"Corporate Insights" as the name suggests, is about grooming the youth and exposing them to information regarding the current demands in the industry and also the post-pandemic challenges and opportunities.

It consisted of four sessions which were conducted by some of the top industry professionals and leaders who have excelled in the corporate realm.

The first session, on May 17, focused on Future Skills to advance as a student. In this unprecedented crisis, Mr. Faisal Zaman, Brand Manager- Neo AHT, British American Tobacco, enlightened the youth on how to develop as a student.

The second session will be on Future Opportunities. The speaker for this session will Mr. Shariful Islam Mridha, Vice President, Learning, Resourcing, Talent Management, and OD, HSBC Bangladesh. The speaker will discuss about employment opportunities in the 'new normal' addressing the post - pandemic scopes.

The third session on Entrepreneurship will be on the third day, May 19. Speaker for the session, Mr. Fahad Ifaz, CEO, iFarmer, will share experiences and suggestions on how to develop and manage start-ups.

The fourth and last session will on Recruitment Hacks, where the speaker Ms. Adrita Datta, Senior HR Business Partner- Operations & Talent, OE, British American Tobacco, Bangladesh. The speaker of the session will share her views from an employer's perspective.

"Corporate Insights" gives the youth an opportunity to extract knowledge to be more aware and thrive along future, and also partake in societal welfare. The registration process is available on NSU YES!s Facebook page.
