BUP Film Club (BUPFC), one of the emerging clubs of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) has been holding its flagship event 'BUP Film Fest 2021'. They launched the event on Wednesday (March 31). It is an inter-university festival on a national scale. In addition to short film showcasing, cine-quiz, script writer hunt, recreate character and poster making competitions are also being held at this event.

"It's a pleasure to work with the whole BUP team. I can find my own university days among these faces as I had also been a film fan. All these students are working for the fest maintaining safety precautions, thanks to BUP authorities for providing all the supports," noted Nadia Nahrin Rahman, moderator of BUPFC, also a faculty of the university.

"In this pandemic, films were a means of escape for some of us. We see characters and find ourselves in them. I think films are the light of hope that makes us dream and believe in ourselves especially," commented Fahmin Chowdhury Tajim, president of BUPFC, also a student of the university.

BUP Film Club has also hosted various seminars and events such as Projection 1.1, Celluloid Stories 1.0, which gave insights about filmmaking to young learners.

Mariha Mahboob, general secretary of BUPFC said, "Honestly speaking, we are a depressed generation; we do not give proper time for our hobbies and personal aspirations. BUP Film Club is creating this opportunity for young film enthusiasts so that they can carry out their film related aspirations through this occasion."
