China keen to invest in Bangladesh Hi-Tech park industry

Chinese companies have shown interest in investing in the high-tech park industry of Bangladesh as investment-friendly atmosphere is prevailing in recent time over the country, reports BSS.

About 35 representatives from 20 companies of Dezhou City under Shandong Province in China and Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) officials exchanged views on China-Bangladesh investment issue at a meeting, an official release said on Tuesday.

Bangladesh High-Tech Park Authority organised the meeting at its conference room in the capital, said the release.

During the meeting, saying an investment-friendly environment prevails in the country, the Chinese representatives expressed keen interest in becoming partners in Bangladesh’s economic growth.

China is now the world’s largest economic power, the Chinese representatives said, adding they are willing to assist Bangladesh through investment in various development sectors such as High-Tech Park.

Highlighting the various possibilities of investment, they said Chinese companies would invest in Bangladesh since its Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is increasing.

Presided over by Managing Director (Secretary) of Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Hosne Ara Begum, the meeting was also addressed by its Director (joint secretary) of Dr Khandakar Azizul Islam.
